Hungarian National Archives

The Hungarian National Archives is located in the 1. district of Budapest, at the Bécsi kapu square, just a few steps from our hotel. The Institute keeps documents which are national treasures, altogether written documents of 73 kilometres, more than 63,5 million microfilm records, and many stamps, maps, photos, plans and charters. The imposing building of the National Archives was built in historical-romantic style. The building is decorated with stone statues, not to mention the rich ornaments inside and the gilded tiled roof made in the Zsolnay factory in Pécs.
